Svensk Solenergi has shared new guidelines for installing stationary battery storage systems. Its publication comes as the number of battery installations in Sweden, across both the residential and larger-scale markets, is accelerating.
This increase underscores the growing role of battery storage systems in stabilising and supporting Sweden's energy infrastructure. Swedish Solar Energy launched version 1.1 of its fire protection guideline for stationary battery storage systems on October 29, 2024.
Batteries enable the phasing out of fossil fuels and increase flexibility in the electricity system through energy storage. The Swedish battery industry is at the forefront. Sweden also has related strengths and opportunities in areas such as vehicles and electrical systems, as well as a strong mining cluster.
About The Battery Safety Conference The conference is organised by RISE, Research Institutes of Sweden, a neutral, independent and state-owned research institute. RISE provides a platform for innovation and collaboration, where research and industry meet to develop sustainable solutions and strengthen Swedish competitiveness.
The Swedish Solar Energy Federation (Svensk Solenergi) has launched a new guideline for fire protection in the installation of stationary batteries, an important step towards increased safety
