Your solar panel is in full sun, but the battery still won't charge. Your devices connected to the battery stop working or shut off. 1. Check Solar Panel Output ✅ Is your solar panel producing voltage? Use a multimeter to check the voltage across the solar panel leads during full sunlight. If reading is 0V: Panel could be damaged.
Lithium batteries include a Battery Management System (BMS) that may shut down to prevent over-discharge or overcharge. Use a multimeter on battery terminals: If BMS is disconnected: Solar charge controller may not “see” the battery. No current will flow. Fix: Use a regulated DC charger or mains charger to “wake up” the battery.
If the battery has a voltage of less than 10V (20V) or if one of the battery cells has a cell voltage below 2.5V, the battery will have permanent damage. This will invalidate the warranty. The lower the battery or cell voltage is, the more damage to the battery will be.
If a cell has a cell voltage below the "Allowed to Discharge" setting in the battery the BMS will turn the load off. The "Allowed to Discharge" level can be set between 2.6V and 2.8V. The default is 2.8V. Check the cell voltages of all the batteries that are connected to the BMS using the VictronConnect app.
